Wink is a mini electric vehicle company founded by Mark Dweck, who came out of retirement to bring Winks to the world. Winks are a far superior urban transport solution than a car. In a dense city, why carry around a bulky suitcase, when you could have a slim backpack? The Wink is eco-friendly, cheaper to recharge, easy to park, comfortable, and cute. Plus its fully equipt with airbags, AC, bluetooth — all of amenties you’d find in a full-sized car. So why isn’t every American urbanite driving a Wink? The issue all comes down to regulation: The US, to protect its economically inconsequential auto industry, imposes steep tariffs on imported EVs. Even with 100%+ tariffs, many imported EVs still manage to be competively priced. Yet the other, more pernicious form of tariffs are the myriad layers of regulation guised as “safety” requirements, designed to gatekeep the US market. For example, the Wink is not allowed to drive over 25mph — whereas in the EU, notorious for its bureaucracy, these vehicles are permitted to drive up to 60mph. When the US finally catches up (it may be sooner than you think), Wink will have been waiting in the shadows, well positioned to strike. Numerous mini-EV companies are beginnning to recieve buzz, and the market is heating up. Yet none have a brand as strong as Wink’s. It’s a cute name, for one. And then the slogan, “get there in a Wink!”? Don Draper couldn’t have dreamed of it. Join the Wink movement today.
