There is something sacred about a book or movie that totally transports you into another universe. The art awakens the childlike wonder inside of us, asking us to imagine. In turn, the experience reveals happiness, humor, or hipocrisy of life on our current world. Yorgos is a master of transporting his audience to another world. Yorgos also does this through plain (often emotionless) dialogue, intentionally brutal camera work, sound track, and subtle actions by characters. You never know if you fully know a character’s true motives in a Yorgos film. Another thing I admire about Yorgos is the consistency of his style. Every movie is a journey, however weird. Kinds of Kindness, a film he released between his two hits “Poor Things” and “Bugonia” is a particularly unique one.
